I’ve seen a ton on the Facebooks about ‘thanking veterans for their service’. As a veteran, let me just be very straightforward and honest with you: We didn’t ‘serve our country’; we don’t actually serve our brothers/sisters or our neighbors. We serve the interests of capital. We never risked our lives or spent months on deployment away from our family and friends so they can have this abstract concept called ‘freedom’. We served big oil, big coal, Coca-Cola, Kellogg, Brown and Root, and all the other big Capital interests who don’t know a fucking thing about sacrifice. These people will never have to deal with the loss of a loved one or the physical and/or psychological scars that those who ‘serve’ and their families have to deal with for the rest of their lives. The most patriotic thing someone can do is to tell truth to power and dedicate yourself to building power to overthrow these sociopathic assholes. I served with some of the most real and genuine people I’ve ever met. You’ll never see solidarity like the kind of solidarity you experience when your life depends on the person next to you. But most of us didn’t join for that; we joined because we were fucking poor and didn’t have many other options.

On top of that, the animal proteins in milk are way too acidic for human consumption and you actually BREAK DOWN the calcium in your bones just to balance out the acidity levels in your blood.
It’s pointless really when there are so many alternatives to cows milk. You have almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, rice milk, hemp milk, and pretty much any other nut milk. You can even make them yourselves for cheaper prices!

“Update: The piglet that we rescued on a previous occasion never recovered from his sordid state and sadly passed away in the loving arms of vets and carers. The fact that he died in a loving environment and not a cold, dirty and loveless floor made it all worth it. R.I.P little fella.
His death was not in vain and we are now going to make sure justice is served! We returned to the farm and liberated another 5 piglets, 2 of which were in the same litter as the little guy that didn’t make it. We from now on will be waging war on this farm and our actions will become more and more intense as time goes on.
We will be back!

I don’t agree with the destruction of these farms, but the rescuing of innocent living things makes me cry. Thank you, who ever you are.

Meet Vixey.

She was rescued as a puppy from a fur farm. If she’d stayed there, like millions of other foxes, she would have been anally or vaginally electrocuted to become part of a fur coat for companies like INTERMIX

Fur-bearing animals, like foxes, are no different from the dogs & cats we live with and love. If we don’t stop their slaughter, no one will.

On behalf of Vixey, please sign and share our INTERMIX fur-free petition

I’m reblogging my favorite of my own posts, with an exciting update! After months of relentless work, we almost have as many signatures on our INTERMIX: PLEASE GO FUR FREE petition as Intermix has on facebook!!!

Current numbers, as of 10:24 PST 4/26/2012:

Intermix: Please Go Fur Free signatures: 56,890

Intermix Facebook fans57,226

It’s going to make a HUGE statement once our number of supporters surpasses Intermix’s, and will hopefully encourage them to ditch fur in the 2012/2013 fall/winter season.

PLEASEsign (it takes 15 seconds!) and share, and help us win this crucial battle.

You can’t get much happier than a pig in muck, or so we are told.
But when this little piggy arrived in the farmyard she showed a marked reluctance to get her trotters dirty. While her six brothers and sisters messed around in the mire, she stayed on the edge shaking. It is thought she might have mysophobia - a fear of dirt.
Owners Debbie and Andrew Keeble were at a loss, until they remembered the four miniature wellies used as pen and pencil holders in their office. They slipped them on the piglet’s feet - and into the mud she happily ploughed. [x]
